Terms of use
The agreement between Aruga and the companies that use it. Short, in plain words, with no surprises.
Last changed on October 11, 2026.
The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you, the company that uses Aruga, and Aruga, the platform. By creating a brand or by using a brand someone added you to, you accept them.
A company on Aruga is called a brand. The person who created the brand, or whom the creator named as owner, is the brand owner and speaks for the brand.
Accounts
- Aruga is open by invitation. The platform owner creates each brand and names its owner.
- You are responsible for what happens under your sign in. Keep it to yourself. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
- A brand owner is responsible for the people they add to the brand and for the roles they give them.
- You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
Your data stays yours
- Everything a brand puts into Aruga belongs to the brand: clients, invoices, hiring records, files, and settings.
- Aruga uses it only to run the service for you, as the privacy policy describes.
- A brand owner can export the brand's reports as CSV and its documents as PDF at any time, can ask for a full copy of the brand's data by email, and can ask for the brand to be deleted.
- If a paid plan ends, the brand can still sign in, read, and export its data. It cannot send new invoices until a plan is active again.
Money
- Aruga never holds a brand's money. Payments from a brand's clients go to the brand's own payment processor account. Aruga sends the invoice and records the payment.
- The processor's own fees and its own terms apply to those payments. Aruga adds no fee on top of them.
- Every brand on Aruga today is on a complimentary plan. Paid plans come later. When they do, every brand owner gets written notice at least 30 days before anything is charged, with the price and what is included.
What you agree to do
- Use Aruga for your own business and keep to the law of the places you and your clients and candidates are in.
- Get consent before you record or transcribe an interview, where the law or good manners require it. Aruga gives you the words to say and a place to record the consent. Getting it is your job.
- Do not use Aruga to score, rank, or make an automated decision about a person. Aruga is built so that it cannot, and you agree not to work around that.
- Do not try to read another brand's data, test Aruga's security without asking us first, send unwanted email through Aruga, or load Aruga in a way that harms other brands.
- Keep your clients' and candidates' data accurate and delete what is past its retention date.
What Aruga agrees to do
- Run the service with care, keep your data separate from every other brand's, and protect it as the privacy policy describes.
- Tell you by email before any change that affects what you pay or what you can do.
- Tell you by email about any security problem that affects your data, as soon as it is confirmed.
- Give you your data when you ask for it, and delete it when you ask for that.
What Aruga does not promise
Aruga is young and is run by a small team. It is provided as it is. Aruga does not promise that the service is never down or never has a mistake, and does not promise that it fits every law in every place.
Aruga is not an accounting ledger and is not tax or legal advice. The numbers on an invoice are yours to check. The decision to hire a person is yours and is made by your own people.
Aruga is not responsible for a loss that comes from how you use the service, from a payment processor, a meeting tool, or an email provider, or from something outside Aruga's control. Where the law allows a limit, Aruga's responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid Aruga in the 12 months before the problem, and to zero while your plan is complimentary. Nothing here limits a responsibility the law does not allow to be limited.
Ending the agreement
- You can stop at any time by asking for your brand to be deleted. Export what you need first. Aruga deletes the brand's data after a 30 day wait, so a mistake can be undone.
- Aruga can close a brand that breaks these terms. Unless the break is serious, you get written notice and 14 days to fix it. You can export your data during that time and for 30 days after.
- If Aruga ever stops running the service, every brand owner gets at least 90 days notice and the time to export everything.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change in a way that matters to you, Aruga emails every brand owner at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can export your data and stop before that date.
